This lovely spot with a pretty church and lime tree just needed tidying up and giving some shape and structure. The client had quite a tight budget so we had to be resourceful with what was there. The fence was cleared of ivy and given a neutral colour. The old riven concrete slabs were cleaned up and a trellis and pergola arch serves to separate the lodger’s quarters. The client gave her old table and chairs some bold spashes of colour which I think work really well. A vegetable bed made from recycled scaffolding boards has proved a great hit with the client and her 10 year old son who have grown all sorts of vegetables.
Here are the photos I took when I first surveyed the garden.
